Hose/Conveyors Introduces the Sani-Flex Sanitary Conveyor

Over forty years of working with– and listening to–our customers gave us the insight that allowed Hose/Conveyors to create the Sani-Flex Sanitary Conveyor. Designed to maximize efficiency and productivity, the Sani-Flex Sanitary Conveyor helps turn wasted hours into productive ones.

What makes Hose/Conveyors’ Sani-Flex food processing conveyor unique?

  • The Sani-Flex Sanitary Conveyor is a multi functional unit—one design accommodates any food processing conveyor belting. One design, any belt.
  • The Sani Flex’s conveyor length can be changed after installation with minimal cost. If a product mix changes, the Sani-Flex design flexibility will easily accommodate it. No need to buy a new conveyor.
  • The Sani-Flex reduces down time and increases productivity. One person—without tools—can fully disassemble it in minutes. Less down time=Lower water usage and operational costs.

Hose/ Conveyors: Food Processing Experts for over 40 Years

Since 1970 Hose/ Conveyors has been serving the Food and Beverage Industry with belt products, conveyor components, and hose fittings and assemblies. Our manufacturing division is a dynamic engineering group with over 30 years experience providing automated conveying, packaging systems and robot palletizing systems. As a result, we understand the food processing industry and its specific requirements. As we began the Sani-Flex Sanitary Conveyor project, we kept in mind two significant trends affecting sanitary conveyor construction:

  • Governmental compliance
  • Operational cost reduction

We listened—A Food Grade Sanitary Conveyor Designed Based on Customer Feedback

Hose/Conveyors designed the Sani-Flex Sanitary Conveyor with our customers’ requirements in mind. Their feedback helped us create a food processing conveyor meeting the industry’s stringent needs– whether processing meats, fruits, vegetables, cheeses, baked goods, candy or snacks.

What did the Food Processing Manufacturers tell us? What other requirements were critical for a sanitary belt conveyor?

#1 Requirement: Maximum Cleanliness – A food processing conveyor that eliminated or decreased the chance of bacteria was tops on the list. With this in mind, the Sani-Flex food grade conveyor was designed to accommodate quick belt changes— helping eliminate cross product contamination. In addition, the Sani-Flex the standards established for 3A, USDA, FDA, BISSC, GMA were implemented. To allow for maximum cleanliness, the following features are available with each Sani-Flex food grade conveyor:

  • Continuous, non-pitted (seamless ) welds
  • Bead blast finish
  • No (or minimal) flat surfaces
  • No three way harborage points
  • Sanitary feet support*
  • Fully exposed conveyor interior for CIP (Clean in Place)
  • Anti-bacterial belting and plastics*
  • 304 Stainless steel construction (316 available*)
  • Metal passivation and electro-polishing *
  • Tubular or angle iron design
*Options available upon request

#2 Requirement: Less down time and water usage. Our customers told us the sanitary conveyor must reduce down time and water usage—helping them lower their operational costs. Keeping this in mind, we provided the unit with the following features:

  • Zero to minimal flat surfaces for standing water
  • Tool-less removal of belting for COP (Clean Out of Place)
  • Tool-less CIP belt lifts and tail lift
  • Fully exposed conveyor—including the head and tail— for SIP (Sanitize in Place) and CIP operations
  • Cantilever design for easy belt removal
  • Tool-less take-up for belt tensioning
  • Removable head and tail section, allowing for quick change outs and easy maintenance of drives section off the production floor

#3 Requirement: Fast belt changes and lower belt replacement costs. Our customers told us they wanted a sanitary conveyor with ease of operation that helped keep overall costs down. Once again we listened and created a food processing conveyor with:

  • A cantilever design with quick release— our sanitary conveyor belt can be changed out rapidly
  • An endless belt that can be ordered for stock and installed on site without the need to bring in a crew to endless the belt on the conveyor

#4 Requirement: Flexibility and adaptability. In the food industry changing product, reconfiguring lines and equipment is common place. Our customers have requested a conveyor design that has the flexibility for multiple belt designs and usages and can adapt to their needs in length as their business changes.

  • A modular design that allows for all belt styles– plastic modular, wire, metal, nitrile, PVC, Urethane— and brands such as Intralox ,Volta, Uni, Habasit, Ammeraal, Mectrol, Ashworth, Wirebelt, Cambridge.
  • A conveyor length that can be changed with minimal cost

Why not invest in the ultimate conveyor for food processing? Contact us today: we promise the Sani-Flex Sanitary Conveyor will maximize your plant’s efficiency and productivity– and turn wasted hours into productive ones.
